What is a rigid box?
A rigid box (also called a setup box) is built around a thick greyboard core — typically 2mm — that is wrapped with printed paper or fabric. Unlike folding cartons, traditional rigid boxes don’t fold flat; they hold a permanent shape, which gives them the heavy, structured feel associated with luxury packaging. (Our collapsible rigid boxes are the exception — they deliver the same premium feel but fold flat to cut shipping costs.)
What is your minimum order quantity?
Our MOQ for rigid boxes is 300 pieces. Because rigid boxes involve more hand-finishing than folding cartons, factory-direct pricing makes a meaningful difference at higher volumes.
Which rigid structure should I choose?
Magnetic-closure boxes are the most popular for a premium unboxing; drawer boxes give an elegant slide-out reveal; telescope boxes suit deeper products and gift sets; shoulder-neck boxes read as the most luxurious; and collapsible rigid boxes cut shipping costs on large orders by folding flat. What is the difference between a rigid box and a folding carton?
A folding carton is made from a single thin sheet of paperboard, printed and shipped flat to fold into shape — economical and lightweight. A rigid box is built on a thick greyboard core that holds a permanent structure, giving a heavier, more premium feel at a higher price point.
Can you make custom inserts for my rigid box?
Absolutely. We engineer EVA foam, thermoformed plastic trays, and folded paperboard inserts cut to the exact geometry of your product, so it sits securely and presents beautifully when the box is opened.
What wrap materials can I choose?
We wrap rigid boxes in printed art paper, specialty textured stocks, or fabric, over a sturdy greyboard core. Each can be finished with foil, lamination, embossing, and spot UV.
Can I order a sample first?
Yes. We offer blank samples to check structure and wrap, and printed digital pre-production samples to preview the look. For color-critical luxury projects we recommend an offset sample, which is the most accurate color reference. Sample fees apply.
How long does production take?
Rigid boxes typically take 12–20 business days after proof approval, as they involve more hand-finishing than folding cartons. Shipping time depends on your location and method — sea freight for large orders, air or express for urgent runs. Every shipment is fully insured.
