FAQs
What's the difference between custom card game and game card printing?
Game card printing focuses on producing cards only — useful when you have your own packaging plans or just need decks shrink-wrapped. MOQ is 200 decks.
Custom card game manufacturing is the complete service: cards plus custom rigid boxes, instruction booklets, and optionally game components like dice, tokens, or miniatures. MOQ is 200 sets for cards + box + booklet, or 500 sets when adding physical components. Most Kickstarter creators and tabletop publishers need the full manufacturing service. See our game card printing page.
What's the minimum order quantity for a custom card game?
Our MOQ depends on what you include in your card game:
- 200 complete sets — for card games consisting of cards, custom box (tuck end, telescope rigid, or magnetic closure), and instruction booklet
- 500 complete sets — when adding physical game components like custom dice, tokens, miniatures, score pads, or player aids
This makes custom card game manufacturing viable for indie publishers and Kickstarter creators launching their first product at small scale.
Can I add custom dice, tokens, or chips to my card game?
Yes. We produce custom dice (multi-sided, printed), cardboard tokens, score pads, player aids, and plastic chips. All components are sized to fit your packaging and printed to match your artwork.
Quantity guidance: Fully custom components (custom shapes, custom molds, full-color printing on chips) are most cost-effective at 5,000+ sets. For runs between 500 and 5,000 sets, we recommend standard shapes with custom printing.
How should I prepare digital files for die-cut card printing?
It is important to prepare your files correctly to ensure that your cards come out looking great. Below we share a few important tips:
- Export your files in PDF format for printing.
- Make sure that you change the color space from RGB to CMYK before you export.
- If you cannot use vectors — for example, if you are exporting bitmaps from Photoshop — then make sure that you set the image resolution to at least 300 dpi.
- If you have a design with colors or images which extend all the way to the edge of the finished sticker, remember to add a 3 mm “bleed zone” to allow for die-cutting.
If you’re working with a professional designer to create your files, they should understand the requirements to make everything “print ready”. But if you’re working with design software yourself for the first time, these tips are vital to remember before you submit your files. Still, our team of experts will always manually check all your files before we go to press. If we find any issues, we will let you know and help you resolve them.
How long does it take to manufacture a complete card game?
Standard production for a complete card game (cards + box + instructions + components) is 4 to 6 weeks, depending on complexity. Add 1-2 weeks for proofing and 5-8 weeks for sea freight to North America, Europe, or Australia. For Kickstarter campaigns, plan for 3-4 months from artwork approval to backer delivery.
Do you support Kickstarter card game projects?
Yes. We specialize in Kickstarter card game manufacturing and shipping. We coordinate with creators from artwork approval through backer fulfillment, with worldwide shipping. US shipments go via DDP (duties paid). For Canada, Australia, UK, and Europe, we ship door-to-door; GST/VAT is not included in our price.
Can I order a sample deck before mass production?
Yes, you can order a sample deck before mass production! We offer various proofing options to help you review the design, colors, paper type, and print quality of the final product.
If you’re unsure about our paper types, finishes, or want to see examples of past projects, you can also request a paper sample pack for reference. This means you can be fully confident before moving forward with your order.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide, including to the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, and more. We offer various shipping options, including combined sea and air freight, to suit your budget and timeline.
