Card Game Paper Options
We make our cards from high-quality printed paper. The type of paper used depends on the cards, what they’ll have printed on them, and what they’ll be used for. The most common paper options for making a custom deck of cards are:
- 300 gsm / 110 lb gloss art paper
- 300 gsm / 110 lb matte art paper
- 350 gsm / 129 lb gloss art paper
- 310 gsm / 114 lb black core paper
- Two sheets of C1S (cover paper coated on one side) glued together
Card Game Finishing Options
Depending on the style of your custom card game, you can choose from a variety of surface finishes, including lamination, varnishing, and more. If you’re a magician, let us know about any special “gimmicks” you need. We can also enhance your deck with extra features, such as:
A non-glossy coating on both sides that offers a textured feel.
A glossy coating on both sides with a subtle texture.
A smooth, velvety matte film applied to both sides, offering durable, non-reflective finish.
A shiny film applied to both sides, giving the card a sleek, high-gloss appearance.
A glossy finish applied to specific areas for a bold and distinct look.
Metallic gold foil pressed onto the card for an elegant, eye-catching detail.
Metallic silver foil applied to the card, adding a sleek, reflective accent.
Raised designs for added texture and elegance.
Metallic foil applied to the edges of the card, creating a premium and polished look from every angle.
Printed on holographic paper, which reflects rainbow-like colors when viewed from different angles.
You can choose rounded or square corners to complete your custom deck of cards.
Custom Card Game Sizes
We use die-cutting to make our cards. This involves making a cutting mold. We have the following size molds always in our stock:
Using our standard pre-made molds is the most cost-effective method. But if you need a custom size, that’s no problem. It just means that we’ll need to prepare a special mold for you and for that service, we’ll need to charge you a small added fee. We can make cards of any thickness you need and, for example, with children’s cards which need to be a bit more robust, we can glue two sheets together to make a sturdier custom game of cards.
Custom Card Game Boxes
We offer a variety of packaging solutions for your card decks. Because most decks need to be collated in a specific order, we’ll handle that first and then load them into a traditional tuck-end box, a telescope rigid box (with a separate lid), or a magnetic closure rigid box (with a hinged lid and magnetic fastening).
If your custom printed card dark doesn’t need its own box—say, it’s part of a board game—we can shrink-wrap it to fit inside your game box or secure the cards in a custom insert made of cardboard, molded PVC, or foam.

FAQs
How should I prepare digital files for die-cut card printing?
It’s important that you prepare your files correctly to make sure that your cards come out looking great. Here, we share a few important tips.
- Export your files in PDF format for printing
- Make sure that you change the color space from RGB to CMYK before you export
- If you can’t use vectors — if you’re exporting bitmaps from Photoshop, for example — then make sure that you set the image resolution to at least 300 dpi
- If you have a design with colors or images which extend all the way to the edge of the finished sticker, remember to add a 3 mm “bleed zone” to allow for die-cutting
If you’re working with a professional designer to create your files, they should understand what’s needed to make everything “print ready”. But if you’re working with design software yourself for the first time, these are the vital tips to remember before you submit your files. Still, our team of experts will always manually check all your files before we go to press. If we find any issues, we’ll let you know and help you resolve them.
Can I order a sample deck before mass production?
Yes, you can order a sample deck before mass production! We offer various proofing options to help you review the design, colors, paper type, and print quality of the final product.
If you’re unsure about our paper types, finishes, or want to see examples of past projects, you can also request a paper sample pack for reference. This means you can be fully confident before moving forward with your order.
How long does it take to print and ship custom card decks?
The production timeline typically ranges from 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the complexity of your order. Shipping times vary by location, but we provide estimated delivery dates upon order confirmation.
What file format should I use for custom card designs?
We accept high-resolution PDF files with a minimum of 300 DPI in CMYK color mode and a 3-mm bleed. Be sure to include bleed and crop marks for accurate printing.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide, including to the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, and more. We offer various shipping options, including combined sea and air freight, to suit your budget and timeline.

QinPrinting Reviews
The sample kit they have available is a must-order for your project. It has every type of paper and finish with a bunch of sample products they've worked on, which helped me make an informed decision about how I wanted my game to look and feel.
The final product(s) arrived within their estimated window and in excellent condition. It still feels surreal to hold it in my hands, and it feels like a legitimate game—because it is!! All thanks to this incredibly talented and professional team.
I feel relieved to have a trusted manufacturer to continue printing my products as sales come in. They're truly worth every penny. Thank you, QinPrinting!!!
I went with Qin Printing as I had specific printing requests that could not be met by many Australian printing service providers, especially not at a competitive price point.
The quality and finishing of the conversation cards is outstanding and the entire process was seamless from start to end. The team at Qin Printing were prompt to reply to my questions and queries and also very helpful with troubleshooting.
I got regular updates on the status of the printing job and shipping period, including pictures and videos of the product.
Thank you everyone at Qin Printing!
The board books I had printed turned out great. Vibrant colors, quality bindings and individually shrink wrapped. All very professional.
Pricing, delivery, communication and quality were all exactly as advertised. No surprises.
Highly recommended
First, they were so reactive, it was especially great to have a contact in Canada, Daniel was so helpful and so quick to respond to my questions. I was guided during the entire process, received a lot of updates and advises. The result was perfect, even better than expected. Also they were always ahead of the expected dates for reviews, proofing, printing and shipping. And prices ate very competitive. So yes I will do business again with them.
Thank Qin Printing team.
At the start, I slightly overestimated how quickly I would complete the project, and for almost a year, I was in contact with Susan, who handled everything with remarkable kindness, understanding, and efficiency. Throughout the entire process, Susan always responded promptly, offering valuable insights and suggestions on how best to achieve the quality I envisioned. Her support made a world of difference, especially given the complexity of my game, which required a great deal of checking and double-checking.
When the final product arrived, I was absolutely thrilled—the quality is simply stunning. Every detail was beautifully executed, and the results exceeded my expectations. It was truly a wonderful experience working with QinPrinting, and I am deeply grateful to Susan in particular, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. If you are looking for a printing partner who combines professionalism, skill, patience, and genuine care, look no further than QinPrinting.
