Paper Options for Movable Books
Most interior pages are made from several layers of C1S (coated on one side) paper, glued together to provide durability and structural support. Depending on the design, we may use 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 sheets to ensure the book’s mechanisms function properly.
- For simpler movable elements, the pop-up or interactive components can be made from these same layers.
- For more complex mechanisms, such as multi-layer pop-ups or combined movable elements, we use thinner paper glued onto the main pages to avoid excessive thickness and ensure smooth operation.

Binding Options for Movable Books

What are dielines in movable book printing?
Dielines are templates that indicate where your artwork should be printed, and where paper should be cut, folded, and glued to create movable mechanisms. They are essential for accurate manufacturing of pop-ups, lift-the-flap, pull-tabs, and other interactive elements.
Do I need to prepare my own dielines?
Not necessarily. If you’re not familiar with creating dielines, simply send us your artwork or rough design. Our professional paper engineers will prepare dieline templates for you. We’ll also produce a sample proof for your review before full production.
Can you help with book design?
We do not provide book design services. All artwork and layouts must be supplied by the client. However, we will review your files and provide guidance to ensure they meet printing requirements.
Do you provide a document checking service?
Yes, we offer a free manual document-checking service to ensure your files are print-ready. Our team will check document layout, bleed, resolution, and other technical details so you can correct any issues before production begins.
Can I see a sample before full production?
