Custom Flash Card Printing

Custom Flash Card Printing

QinPrinting provides custom flash card printing for educational publishers, training companies, tutoring services, and kids’ brands. Whether you’re producing classroom vocabulary decks, corporate onboarding cards, language learning sets, or early childhood learning kits, we print durable cards built for real use — not just display. From 200 decks and up.

Flash cards take a beating — they get shuffled, dropped, stacked, and handled hundreds of times. That’s why we offer a 4-tier cardstock system: single-layer 300/350 gsm premium cardstock for standard adult study decks, mounted double-layer C1S paper (0.8–1.0 mm thick) for children’s cards that survive daily handling, and mounted triple-layer C1S (1.2–1.5 mm thick) for early childhood cards that little hands will literally throw, chew, and step on. Rounded corners come standard for safety.

Single Sheet Cardstock Flash Cards

For standard student flash cards, 300gsm or 350gsm premium cardstock works well. The coated paper helps maintain consistent print quality on both sides and provides enough thickness to withstand regular handling.

Single Sheet C1S Paper Flash Cards

If you need flash cards with images on one side and another side for writing, 300gsm or 350gsm C1S paper is ideal. One coated side enhances print clarity, while the uncoated side better absorbs ink, making it easier to write on.

Mounted Double-Layer C1S Paper Flash Cards

By mounting two layers of 300gsm or 350gsm C1S paper, you get extra rigidity that prevents bending over time—even when kids use them repeatedly. Each flash card’s thickness is around 0.8mm – 1mm. These cards typically feature rounded corners for added safety and longer-lasting durability.

Mounted Triple-Layer C1S Paper Flash Cards

For maximum strength, triple-layer 300gsm or 350gsm C1S paper mounted is the best option. Each flash card’s thickness is around 1.2mm – 1.5mm. The additional layers make the cards sturdy enough for active play and frequent handling, especially by younger children. Rounded corners provide an extra measure of safety.

Surface Finishes for Flash Cards

Flash cards are used repeatedly and often handled by young learners or trainees. To make sure they stay in good condition, we recommend protective finishes on both sides. We also round off the corners as standard. If you’d like to add a punched hole for storage rings, just let us know—we’re happy to include this feature.

Flash Card Sizes

We use precision extrusion molds to die-cut every set, resulting in consistent edges and smooth finishes. With years of experience, we’ve accumulated a large library of molds—so you can often avoid extra tooling fees. Below are some of our most commonly requested sizes:

Why Print Your Flash Cards with Us?

Flash card printing has specific requirements that general card printers don’t always optimize for. Here’s what makes us different:

Premium Cardstock

4-Tier Cardstock System for Any Durability Need

Standard adult flash cards run on single-layer 300 or 350 gsm cardstock. For children’s cards that need to survive real kitchen counters, sticky hands, and floor drops, we offer mounted double-layer C1S (0.8–1.0 mm — twice as thick as a credit card) or mounted triple-layer C1S (1.2–1.5 mm — indestructible for toddlers). No other printer offers this tiered durability system.

Full-Customization,-Endless-Options

Writable C1S Paper for Fill-In-the-Blank Cards

For flash cards where users need to write on one side (vocabulary fill-ins, math problems, custom study answers), we offer C1S paper with one coated side and one uncoated side. Coated side for sharp image and text printing, uncoated side for pencil or pen markings. Most printers only offer fully coated stock — we give you the choice.

Custom Packaging Options

Hole Punch, Rings, and Booster Packs

Need your flash cards bound with a ring for portable study? We punch corner holes on request. Running a gamified learning product? We offer sealed booster packs with randomized or sequential card sets. We can also include sticker sheets, card rings, elastic bands, or printed answer booklets inside the deck box.

Factory-Direct-Pricing

No Mold Fees on Standard Sizes

We own dozens of die-cut molds covering all common flash card sizes — 2.5×3.5, 3×4, 3.5×5, 4×6, and more. For standard sizes, you pay zero tooling fees. For custom dimensions, we can create new molds affordably. Precision extrusion die-cutting means clean edges and smooth corners across every card.

Trusted-by-Thousands-of-Authors-and-Publishers

Factory-Direct Pricing for Bulk Education Orders

We print in our own facility in China with direct access to all flash card materials — cardstock, C1S paper, lamination film, die-cut tooling. Our clients typically save 30–40% on flash card production. For school districts ordering 5,000+ decks or educational publishers running 10,000+ runs, the savings add up fast.

Flash cards come in many forms—from student drills to product training tools. Below are popular use cases and our recommended paper choices for each:

  • Custom educational flash cards
Language learning, math facts, science terms, and history reviews. Best with: Single Sheet Premium or C1S Paper
  • Early childhood development cards
Shapes, letters, numbers, and colors designed for little hands.
Best with: Mounted Double or Triple-Layer C1S Cards
  • Professional training tools
Sales training, onboarding guides, and product features. Best with: Single Sheet Premium or Single Sheet C1S Paper
  • Marketing and promotional flash cards
Branded giveaways, quiz decks, and event handouts. Best with: Single Sheet Premium or Single Sheet C1S Paper

Choosing the right paper guarantees your cards meet the needs of their audience—visually, physically, and practically.

For flash cards where users fill in answers, mark with pencil, or customize with pen, we recommend C1S paper — “Coated One Side” paper that has:

  • Coated side for sharp, vibrant printing (images, diagrams, headers)
  • Uncoated side that accepts pencil, pen, dry-erase, or crayon without smudging

This is different from our standard fully-coated cardstock, which is optimized for print quality but repels most writing instruments. If your flash cards have a question on one side and users write the answer on the other, C1S is the right choice.

Available in 300 gsm or 350 gsm weights. For maximum durability (children’s cards users write on repeatedly), we can mount two layers of C1S for a thicker, writable card.

Yes. We can punch a single hole in any corner of your flash cards on request, so they can be bound together with a binder ring, carabiner, or elastic cord for portable study.

This is popular for:

  • Language learning cards (flip through vocabulary on the go)
  • Medical and nursing reference decks (quick lookup during clinical rotations)
  • Sales training cards (field reference for product specs)
  • Early childhood cards (parents clip them to diaper bags)

Hole placement is customizable based on your card layout. Let us know when requesting a quote, and we’ll factor the hole punch into pricing.

It’s important that you prepare your files correctly to make sure that your cards come out looking great. Here, we share a few important tips.

  • Export your files in PDF format for printing
  • Make sure that you change the color space from RGB to CMYK before you export
  • If you’re exporting bitmaps from Photoshop, for example — then make sure that you set the image resolution to 300 dpi
  • If you have a design with colors or images which extend all the way to the edge of the finished sticker, remember to add a 3 mm “bleed zone” to allow for die-cutting

If you’re working with a professional designer to create your files, they should understand what’s needed to make everything “print ready”. But if you’re working with design software yourself for the first time, these are the vital tips to remember before you submit your files. Still, our team of experts will always manually check all your files before we go to press. If we find any issues, we’ll let you know and help you resolve them.

Yes, you can order a sample deck before mass production! We offer various proofing options to help you review the design, colors, paper type, and print quality of the final product.

If you’re unsure about our paper types, finishes, or want to see examples of past projects, you can also request a paper sample pack for reference. This ensures you’re fully confident before moving forward with your order!

The production timeline typically ranges from 2-3 weeks, depending on the complexity of your order. Shipping times vary by location, but we provide estimated delivery dates upon order confirmation.

Yes. Flash cards aimed at children under 12 — especially early childhood learning cards — may require CPC (Children’s Product Certificate) compliance for US distribution and retail.

We provide:

  • CPC-ready printing with third-party testing documentation
  • Non-toxic soy-based inks that meet CPSIA safety standards
  • Lead-free paper and safe adhesives for mounted multi-layer cards
  • Small parts compliance (hole punch, die-cut shapes, ring bindings)

We also support CE certification for EU markets and FSC-certified paper upon request. For educational publishers and kids’ brands distributing flash cards through Amazon, Target, or major retailers, CPC is usually required. Let us know your distribution channels when requesting a quote.

Yes, we ship worldwide, including to the USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia. We offer various shipping options, including combined sea and air freight, to suit your budget and timeline.
