Common Desk Calendar Sizes
We can produce desk calendars in any size you like. The exact dimensions depend on your design features and photograph sizes, and the calendar can be oriented in either landscape or portrait. While 8.5″ × 11″, 5.5″ × 8.5″, and 7.25″ × 10″ are among the most economical sizes, the most common desk calendar sizes are:
- 246mm x 170mm
- 9.7″ x 6.7″
- 11″ x 9″
- 10″x 7″
Desk Calendar Materials
Most desk calendars feature full-color images and graphics alongside the dates-and-days grid. To achieve the most vibrant results, we recommend printing on gloss or matte art paper. However, if you want people to write on the calendar, uncoated paper stock is the better choice. It allows easy writing, annotating, and note-taking with pencils, pens, or markers—making it ideal for clients who need a practical, writable surface.
Desk Calendar Frames
One of the most distinctive features of a desk calendar is its triangular frame, which supports it on the desktop. We construct ours using sturdy yet lightweight 2 mm or 2.5 mm grayboard, wrapped in laminated 157 gsm /106 lb paper. For a more unique finish, we can also wrap the frame in textured paper, vinyl, cloth, or leatherette. To add a personal touch, we can apply your brand logo with foil stamping or print any custom design.
Custom Desk Calendar Binding
We mount your custom desk calendar on a folding cardboard frame so it can stand upright on a desk. The most suitable binding for this format is Wire-O, providing both a clean look and excellent functionality.
Wire-O binding
Wire-O binding uses a technique known as “punch-and-bind”. We punch or drill equally spaced holes along the upper edge of the calendar’s pages. We then insert a flexible wire—wound into a double series of circular hoops—through the holes. The wire coil holds the pages together while allowing them to flip over easily. We can laminate the pages to make them tougher and water-resistant. And we’re happy to spruce your desk calendar up with other features, like foil stamping, embossing, debossing, and die-cutting.
